L’estiu de 1992 una quarantena d’independentistes catalans van ser detinguts en el marc de l’Operació Garzón per tal de garantir la pau social en la celebració dels Jocs Olímpics de Barcelona. Mentre a la superfície la societat de l’espectacle gaudia amb l’eufòria esportiva, a les entranyes de l’Estat, a les garjoles de la Guàrdia Civil, aquells arrestats eren cruelment torturats i maltractats. En aquestes pàgines s’hi relata aquesta experiència i com allò que cercava trencar-los i destruir-los per sempre més va ser capgirat per una persistent campanya de denúncia culminada amb una condemna del Tribunal d’Estrasburg al Regne d’Espanya per no haver investigat el que els havia passat.
